Student Trainee (Economics-Pathways Internship)

  • As an Economics Student Trainee, you will perform a assignments of economic analyses projects as part of a recurring and/or continuing program of economic data gathering, analysis and interpretation, and/or to perform units of special research projects of higher graded Economists. You will be expected to perform limited and clearly defined special investigations, and/or comparable portions of continuing studies, and/or projects of higher level analysts, as a trainee in the profession designed to provide training, experience, and technical competence in the methods, procedures, principles, theories, and techniques for the collection, analysis and preparation of economic reports.

GS 3
  • Observe and shadow higher graded economists completing specific segments of economic analyses projects, using standard techniques
  • Participate in evaluations of impacts of new technologies, systems, and policies.
  • Participate in facets of planning, designing, and conducting tests to obtain and validate data
GS 4
  • Offer observations, thoughts, and conclusions to higher graded economists as they complete specific segments of economic analyses projects, using standard techniques.
  • Complete in-depth observations on evaluations of impacts of new technologies, systems and policies.
  • Consider past conclusions and observations and offers input, if requested, from higher graded economists for priorities, milestones, and refinements of problem definitions for assigned project segments.
GS 5
  • Complete specific segments of economic analyses projects, using standard techniques.
  • Acquire sufficient parametric knowledge of project to perform sound economic analyses reflective of real world environments.
  • Develop recommendations for priorities, milestones, and refinements of problem definitions for assigned project segments

  • Complete economic analyses segments projects, using standard techniques. Compiles, organizes and analyzes data
