SR-509 Gateway Program Engineer - Transportation Engineer 3

The Opportunity
WSDOT is looking to hire an experienced engineer professional to provide Construction Contract Administration Support to the Gateway Program SR-509 Completion team. This team is responsible for the delivery of a series of vital projects creating a new expressway in S. King County supporting Regional multimodal mobility and economic growth. This position will supervise teams that are responsible for Contract Progress Payments, Project Controls, Change Management, Contract Compliance, and Risk Management. What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Transportation Engineer 3 will:
·        Supervise a team of engineers and technicians in performing Project Control tasks such as producing reports, maintaining work order history and authorizations, maintaining cost commitment/tracking databases and issue logs, analyzing contractor schedules using P6 or Graphic Scheduler, and creating independent as-built schedules.
·        Supervise Change Management, Contract Compliance, and Document Control developing change orders and their estimates, report on DBE/Training utilization, verify subcontractor payments and paperwork, and maintain other necessary documentation.
·        Prepare pre-estimates and review design-builder invoices.
·        Represent WSDOT in meetings and participate in monthly field walks with construction teams to assess progress of project work.
·        Ensure all subcontractors have the required paperwork submitted to L&I and to the project office for Request to Sublets, Affidavits of Wages Paid, and Certified Payrolls.
·        Assist in risk identification and resolution tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
·        Valid current Driver’s License
·        Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Transportation Engineer 2 or equivalent.
·        Minimum of one (1) year of construction experience with design-build and design-bid-build contracts.
·        Ability to travel to various construction sites throughout the region and work in various weather conditions and traverse steep and uneven terrain. 
Preferred Qualifications:
·        Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management
·        Engineer In Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering certification

·        The listed salary includes the Legislative approved King County Premium Pay.
