Volunteer Opportunity: NHQ:FD - Intern - Individual & Foundation Giving
Purpose:
This unpaid internship position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Fund Development (FD) department and specifically the Individual & Foundation Giving team. This position is a virtual (work from home) position. All intern applicants must be enrolled students in an education program. This position will assist Individual & Foundation Giving team with developing internal and external resources to support donor-giving vehicle strategy; Provide support for the development of NHQ materials and resources and administrative support
Location(s): Virtual/Remote (work from home)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare presentations using PowerPoint and Word. ·
- Assists with sending mailings such as event mailings ·
- Provides general office assistance as related to development, including photocopying, as well as assisting with projects and other duties as assigned ·
- Assist with research and administrative projects that help fulfill fundraising needs and annual fundraising goal. ·
- Assists the Tiffany Circle team with developing materials and taking minutes on: Chapter Chairs Forum Calls, Pre-Planning Calls, and Tiffany Circle National Council Calls ·
- Supports special projects of the IFG team
Length of Appointment: 8 hours per week during business hours
Qualifications: Required: ·
- Excellent written/oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential
- Excellent relationship skills and ability to work cross-functionally ·
- Networking and cross-departmental team building skills ·
- Strategic thinking · Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred: ·
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Experience working in a non-profit, fundraising environment, or with event planning or nonprofit board experience a plus
Length of Appointment: 2-3 months (summer 2020)
