Customer Marketing Intern (Summer 2020)


Here at Okta, we apply a “customer-first” lens to everything we do. The Customer Marketing Team is responsible for developing new and exciting customer journeys, highlighting customers throughout Oktane and other industry events. As well as connecting customers with press and analysts to share the impact, Okta has on their organizations.

As the Customer Marketing Intern, you will wear multiple hats, partnering closely with the Marketing, Customer First, and Sales teams to share our customer stories broadly. You’ll get hands-on experience and understand the critical role customer advocacy plays in B2B Marketing. You’ll contribute to develop customer reference materials and make sure all our assets support Sales and Marketing.

Projects & Responsibilities will depend on the needs of the team and the Intern’s skills, abilities, and background. However, the following can be anticipated:

  • Gather valuable customer information to make assets digestible and searchable across the organization: this includes supporting our transition to a new content management system and sharing customer stories across Okta’s website
  • Help create new customer marketing assets
  • Promote customer stories via social media
  • Drive customer engagement through our customer advocacy community
  • Support various customer marketing projects that help fuel the customer marketing pipeline
  • Adhoc Tasks and Projects
 

To be successful in this role, you must be curious and willing to dive into the details surrounding our customers’ stories. 

Minimum required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field with an expected graduation date of Summer 2021 or later
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong social and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Deeply organized and detail oriented
  • Highly motivated, self-starter attitude
  • People-person
  • Ability to collaborate with team members while finding opportunities to give value individually
