Web Design Intern

The Division of Consumer and Community Affairs is looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven intern to join the Web Design & Development team. The candidate will assist the Division in the creation and maintenance of pages and interactive elements using web standards and best practices, while adhering to Division coding and identity guidelines.
Qualifications - External
  • Design, prototype, and build pages and interactive elements to support Division intranet and other web properties
  • Assist with cross-browser testing and quality assurance
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science or related with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of Responsive Web Design and Progressive Enhancement
  • Understanding of cross-browser debugging
  • Ability to show initiative, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • This internship requires the candidate have beginner to intermediate experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. To be considered as an applicant, the candidate will need to provide examples of source code demonstrating their own abilities in these areas. Preferred Qualifications:
·       Experience with Angular or ReactJS
·       Experience with modern data-visualization library such as D3 or Highcharts
·       Knowledge of Section 508/WCAG

Typical Tenure: 
·       Full-time during June-September
·       Part-time while enrolled in college

Hours Per Week:
    
The intern will work 20 hours per week while enrolled in college. Additional hours will need to be approved by the hiring manager during the Spring, Summer, and Fall session breaks.
