Summer 2022, Digital Assets Operations Intern

The Digital Assets Ops intern will be part of a highly cross-functional and multidisciplinary group — from brand marketers and strategists, to media planners, designers, copywriters,  operations managers and more. 
 
Every day, journalists at the New York Times report more than 200 stories from dozens of countries around the world on topics ranging from major international events to the best way to roast a chicken. Those stories are read, listened to and watched by millions of users across our web and mobile products.

About our Team 
 
Collaborating with stakeholders across the company, the  Digital Assets Operations team provides support and service for the entire NYT product portfolio - from our core digital news app, to new beta products, to the iconic paper. The team handles a breadth of marketing assets: emails, landing pages, banners, etc. plus the QA required to ensure zero in-market errors.  We are motivated by a desire to see speed, accuracy, and innovation in our marketing programs, for a best-in-class experience. When confronted with “the way things are”, it is this team’s responsibility to ask and answer “is that the way they should be?”
 
As a Digital Assets intern, you will:
 
The Digital Assets Ops intern will be part of a highly cross-functional and multidisciplinary group — from brand marketers and strategists, to media planners, designers, copywriters,  operations managers and more. 

About You

The ideal candidate is someone who has some coding skills already (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and is considering a career in front-end development and/or Marketing but isn’t really sure what exactly they want to do. We intend to give our intern the opportunity to work across the functional areas within the team including: Email Development + Execution, Web Development, Quality Assurance, Compliance and Capabilities. You’ll have the chance to work on projects and/or explore topics of interest in those areas with some of the best professionals in the business. 

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are rising juniors or seniors
  • Comfortable with HTML, CSS, and SQL. It’s not so much the languages you know, as the languages you know well
  • Must have some prior exposure to and experience in email marketing or web development
  • Any experience with APIs, Free Marker, and Responsys is highly desirable 
 
About Our Summer Internships:

  • Our internships are paid
  • It is 10 weeks long, starting on or around June 6, 2022
  • You will work remotely
