At Eagle River and Water Sanitation District, the HR department’s main focus is taking care of our dedicated and talented operators and crew so they can do what they do best- provide efficient and reliable water and wastewater service to our customers. We are looking for a Recruiting Intern to join our team and support recruiting initiatives to our fast growing, environmentally focused organization.

A Recruiting Intern with ERWSD will have daily exposure to a number of talent acquisition tasks and processes and will learn from a team of dedicated and experienced professionals.

This role can work on site, be fully remote or work a hybrid schedule. This internship can last up to 6 months or up to 1000 hours, whichever comes first.

What You Will Learn:
  • Full lifecycle recruitment processes, legal considerations, and best practices.
  • Paycom HCMS and general HRIS processes.
  • General HR processes.
  • Data-driven recruitment strategies and analysis for sourcing and lead generation.

Day to Day Tasks:
  • Assists in developing recruitment programs and strategies to meet business objectives and support district mission, vision, and values.
  • Performs basic recruiting tasks including posting on job boards, scheduling and confirming interviews, phone screens, reference checks, candidate communication, pre-employment contingency setup and offer letters.
  • Researches sourcing options and generates leads for talent focusing on industry specific platforms.
  • Researches sourcing options to support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Performs recruiting platform searches and communications for hard to fill roles.
  • Works with HR Analyst for recruiting reporting and tracking for recruitment process decision making.
  • Supports college recruiting efforts and build relationships with local and industry specific college programs.
  • Develops templates for social media recruitment.
  • Works with HR team to refine and communicate Paycom workflows and recruitment processes.

Big Projects:
This will depend on you! Are you interested in data analytics, social media marketing, process improvement, or DEI initiatives? A Recruiting Intern with us will have the opportunity to take the lead and present on a project of their choosing to improve our recruitment strategy and brand. You’ll partner with a member of the HR team to work on this project, present to the team, and implement your work.
Other special projects as assigned related to recruitment processes and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Pursuing Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university within Human Resources, Business, Communications, Marketing or related field plus 6 months related experience and/or training (office administration, hospitality, professional workplace experience); or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Recent graduate preferred.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Must have the ability to enthusiastically interact with employees & managers at all levels within the organization & maintain a high level of confidentiality. Results oriented with a strong commitment to customer service. Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Follow-up skills required. Knowledge of local area preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in use of office equipment, phone systems, copier, fax machine. Computer proficiency required. Windows, Word, and Excel, Power point. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Experience with Paycom or other HCM systems preferred.

POSITIVITY:
Positive attitude to complete important but occasionally repetitive or semi-skilled tasks. Enthusiastic about recruiting and ready to learn!

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING:
Strong communication skills required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to communicate professionally through email. Marketing and social media skills preferred.

LICENSES
Must possess a valid Driver's license and be insurable to drive a district vehicle under District's standards.

HIRING RANGE
The range for this role is $22.29 - $31.23 hourly. Hiring wage will depend on qualifications and experience, but typically falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
