Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing support for E-resources renewals and invoice receipt, order encumbrances, tracking payments for resources, and maintaining accurate information about electronic resources and related acquisitions. This position will also assist in maintaining access to resources including activations in ALMA and associated troubleshooting and/or researching of resources.
Duties & Responsibilities
Renewals, Receiving, and Order Creation
  • Receiving e-resource invoices, re-encumbering Library funds, tracking renewals and payments for e-resources, assisting in solving payment issues, and creation of orders in ALMA.
Documentation and Information about Resources
  • Maintains accurate information in ALMA regarding e-resources. Creates and updates documentation. Communicates with vendors, publishers, and selectors regarding e-resources. Researches resources and title availability.
Assists in Maintaining e-resource activations in ALMA.
Other related duties as assigned.

Additional Physical Demands
Physical requirements: Work involves typing at a computer workstation and using various forms of synchronous and asynchronous communication software to interact with others. Moving within the room to use reference materials is also required.
Work environment: Work is performed in an office setting with minimal risks or discomfort. The ability to work in a crowded and occasionally hectic environment in an efficient and quiet manner is required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
           A. work experience in a library or equivalent setting.
           B. college course work in any field as measured by the following conversion table
                      • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
                      • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
                      • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
                      • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in library technical services. Customer service experience. Experience using library electronic resources such as databases, e-books, e-journals, streaming media, and online catalogs. Experience documenting work procedures and/or maintaining procedural documentation for others.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Advanced competency using Microsoft Excel.
· High level of proficiency in internet search techniques.
· Ability to interpret information on the internet.
· Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to engage in independent critical thinking and decision-making.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently to perform complex tasks.
· Demonstrated service orientation and strong written and oral communication skills.
· Commitment to improving the user experience.
 
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service non-exempt Library Specialist position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Annual Salary is $42,471.
