Based in Manassas, you will be part of Swift’s 10-week internship. During your internship, you will work alongside a mentor and with a team who can help you develop your business sense.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship,
  • Be a rising Junior or Senior

 

As a Software Development Intern specializing in Microservices, you will work closely with our experienced development team to design, implement, test, and deploy microservices-based applications. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply best practices for building scalable and resilient microservices architectures, as well as gaining exposure to the latest tools and technologies in the field.

 

Responsibilities:

Microservices Development:

  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement microservices-based solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable and resilient microservices architectures.

Coding and Testing:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality.

Documentation:

  • Document code and system functionalities for future reference.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation related to microservices architecture.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and insights.

Learning and Development:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to microservices.
  • Actively seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture principles and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Exposure to version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.

As part of internship, person will work with FIN messaging team to implement Linux containers to run FIN Process/application and writing Restful API for connect VMware vcenter. At the end of internship, student will present work to management about development and achievements.
