Financial Analyst Intern

June - August 2018 • Eden Prairie, MN

What I liked

I liked having the opportunity to work full time for such a successful company that has great company culture driving their success. It was great to get a taste of what a real work job will look like once I graduate.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more excel training before I started. The school should focus a lot on middle everyday usage of excel and not so advanced stuff because that never gets used.

Advice

Talk to everyone that you can and experience as much as you can. Whether it’s going to meetings or networking with other departments you can never meet enough people.

Business Analyst Intern

June - August 2019 • Minnetonka, MN

What I liked

I liked that I had input in the projects that I would be doing during my summer with UnitedHealth Group. I also had a variety of different projects which was nice to gain experience in different areas and meet people from different teams. I worked with Tableau on creating seven different dashboards, and I am now applying this in my work on my Senior Thesis Project.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have networked more from the beginning. Towards the end, I started meeting a lot more people, but I wish that would have started from the beginning especially at such a large company.

Advice

Become comfortable putting yourself in uncomfortable situations because that's when the most growth happens.
